NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WHDH) -- After nearly a century and a half, the first Portuguese church in North America held its last mass Sunday morning.
St. John the Baptist Church is located right here in the Bay State in New Bedford.
Some parishioners plan to appeal to the Bishop to reverse the decision to close and if it doesn't work, the group plans to appeal the closing to the Vatican.
