THE Networking lunch

Starts at 11.45am with pre- lunch drinks and informal networking ? your opportunity to talk and start to build relationships with the numerous decision makers. ?Each person has a name badge along with their company/organisations name ? there is nothing better that when you use a person?s name and when they use yours.

At 12.30pm everyone sits down at a table ? the seating plan has been arranged so that you sit with other decision makers ? none of whom do what you do. ?There is a table host at each table and they are there to ensure that you get the most from the next session.

Once sat Sean Humby ? Business Network SW Director and host for the event will begin the lunch with a brief introduction to the next 90 minutes

You and everyone around the table exchange business cards and the table host then starts the round of?3 minute ?presentations?. ?You do this only to the others around your table. ?This is done as your 2 course lunch (bread rolls followed by a main course and then dessert with coffee ? dietary requirements can be catered for) is served. ?A multi-tasking session ? listening, eating and talking! ?Pens and note pads are provided to enable you to make notes

How to make the most of your 3 minutes

  • Introduce yourself and your company/organisation
  • Outline what you do ? the benefits that you bring to your customers/clients
  • What type of customers/clients are you looking to build relationships with?
  • How could the people around the table help you or your customers/contacts?
  • What are you looking to purchase, what challenges do you have (also think about this from the perspective of your clients)
  • Can you refer the people around the table to others that you know?
  • A great tip ? look at who you?ve been helping/working with or who you are getting together with in next few weeks ? this will demonstrate your business in action

Once everyone has done their 3 minutes there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and deliver answers and have a more indepth conversation with people on your table.

Around 1.30pm you will have the opportunity to network around the room ? you will have a copy of the seating plan which lists everyone attending , their name, business name and what their business does and importantly what table tehy are sat on. ?You can then locate people that you wish to speak to very easily or Sean will broker the introduction for you.

At 1.40pm there will be a speaker ? a Business Network SW member ? delivering something informative, entertaining, enlightening. ?Roy Adair ? Open Network Associates will be the speaker at this event

The lunch finishes at 2pm and you have the opportunity to continue your conversations, set up a follow up meeting or have a one to one. ?The hotel has extensive lounge facilities for you to use.

Cost of event is ?30.00 (Inc VAT) covering seminar, coffee, 2 course served lunch with drinks, delegate list, free car parking

Getting the most from Business Network SW events

International Talk Like a Pirate Day?(ITLAPD) is a?parodic?holiday?created in 1995 by John Baur (Ol? Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap?n Slappy), of?Albany, Oregon,[1]?U.S., who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a?pirate.[1]?For example, an observer of this?holiday?would greet friends not with ?Hello,? but with ?Ahoy, matey!? The holiday, and its observance, springs from a romanticized view of the?Golden Age of Piracy. It has become a holiday for members of the?Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.[2]
