Many accolades have been granted to the Prius Hybrid automobile by Toyota. As one of the most well known contenders in the hybrid car initiative, the Toyota Prius has made a definite mark in the motor industry. It looks like car makers have recognized the serious issues surrounding escalating gas prices and environmental concerns, and they have chosen to introduce hybrid cars as part of the solution. The Prius, having a name which means first, is the first hybrid car that has been mass-produced just for commercial purposes. Starting in 1997, the Prius was only for sale in Japan, but in 2001 it was released worldwide.

Environmentalists, announcing it as the car to protect the planet from air pollution, gave it a huge boost in popularity. North American sales have been steadily growing ever since the Prius was introduced in that market. The Prius was in great demand with an incredibly long waiting list at the end of 2006. Toyota perceives their car as a means to supply consumers with a choice of an energy-efficient vehicle that would produce less pollution. The Prius was made from the bottom, and has turned out to be a true hybrid car that is well-loved throughout the world. Click for more advice.
