Does This Watch Make Me Look Fast?

Tsovet

?

Collaborations between timepiece manufacturers and the auto racing world are nothing new-- think of TAG Heuer's Steve McQueen-inspired wristwatches or Rolex's legendary title sponsorship of the 24 Hours of Daytona-- and?Tsovet rides that wave with their new Chip Ganassi limited edition watch, which will see 51 numbered units produced.?

?

With styling cues inspired by the team's race livery, the chunky timepiece commemorates 145 wins from 1994 to 2011 in everything from Indy Car, NASCAR Sprint Cup, to Grand-Am; Ganassi's record also includes 14 championships and three Indianapolis 500 victories.?Housed within a 44mm?aerospace grade 316L stainless steel case with matte PVD gun metal is?an automatic Swiss Valjoux 7750 movement; the 15.25mm thick structure is topped with a sapphire crystal lens. One of the watches has already been delivered to Mr. Ganassi himself.

?

Priced at $3,495, the Chip Ganassi edition Tsovet dwells at the upper end of the mainstream watch market-- positioning which could help elevate the Los Angeles-based watchmaker into the more rarified air shared by big boys like Breitling and Omega.
