Dave Engledow is creating quite the family scrapbook as he aims to prove he is the world's best father.
By Declan Whooley
Doting parents can be forgiven for becoming snap-happy when they want to capture their children's youth, but one father has taken a different twist with his photography, capturing some hilarious moments with his young daughter.
Dave Engledow told the Huffington Post that the first shot was taken when the toddler was just eight weeks old. He wanted to capture the moment of being a clueless father while using the prop of a mug saying ?World?s Best Father?. Initially it was to be a single shot, but as the ideas grew, a scrapbook developed.
?The character I portray in this series is intended to be a parody of the father I hope I never become - distracted, self-absorbed, neglectful, clueless, or even occasionally overbearing,? he told the website.
He assures readers that Alice Bee was never in any danger during the photos and that it was all in the name of fun.
?I want the style to alert people to the fact right away that this is supposed to be funny.?
We think they are hilarious but we are sure there are fussy parental associations out there that may not be too pleased. You can?t please everyone.

FRIDAY, Sept. 28 (HealthDay News) -- Treatment advances, a multifaceted treatment approach and federal funding helped improve care and outcomes for all HIV patients at an inner-city clinic in Baltimore, including those often hit hardest by the disease, researchers report.
The 15-year (1995 to 2010) analysis of patients at the clinic serving primarily poor, black patients with high rates of injection drug use showed what state-of-the-art HIV care can achieve with appropriate support, according to the study published online Sept. 28 in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases.
"Contemporary HIV care can markedly improve the health of persons living with HIV regardless of their gender, race, risk group or socioeconomic status," study author Dr. Richard Moore, of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, said in a journal news release.
Health care challenges for HIV patients include lack of access to treatment, failure to stay in care and poor adherence to treatment guidelines. With funding from the federal government's Ryan White Program, the clinic in this study was able to provide care for patients who might otherwise have slipped through the cracks, the study authors pointed out in the news release.
The Ryan White Program, created in 1990, provides services for people with HIV/AIDS who can't afford care.
The Baltimore clinic offers multiple levels of care and support to address HIV patients' complex needs, including primary care, substance abuse and mental health care, and supportive care such as case management, nutrition, emergency services and transportation.
As a result of the multilevel care offered at the clinic and advances in antiretroviral drugs, HIV patients at the clinic now have a life expectancy of 73 years, the study authors found. This life expectancy was the same across all demographic and behavioral risk groups.
But the researchers noted that the results included only those patients who were "engaged in care" -- in other words, those who showed up for lab testing and follow-up appointments.
"Getting people living with HIV engaged in care is critical to their well-being," Moore said.

The critically endangered Puerto Rican Parrot (Amazona vittata) is the only surviving parrot species native to the United States. A genomic sequencing project, funded by community donations, has published today, in BioMed Central and BGI's open access journal GigaScience, the first sequence of A. vittata, the first of the large Neotropical Amazona birds to be studied at the genomic level.
The Puerto Rican Parrot was once abundant throughout Puerto Rico but destruction of old forest habitats to make way for farming in the 19th Century resulted in a drastic decline in their population. By the mid 1970's only a handful of individuals were thought to remain. Captive breeding programs in Rio Abajo and El Yunque and the release of these birds have had some success, but the number of these birds in the wild is still very low.
In a unique initiative (developing of the Local Community Involvement), funded entirely by contributions from the communities of Puerto Rico alongside staff and students from the Biology Department of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagez, researchers collaborated internationally to sequence this beautiful parrot.
Dr Taras Oleksyk, who organized the The Puerto Rican Parrot Genome Project, explained their findings, "In this project we managed to cover almost 76% of the A. vittata genome using money raised in art and fashion shows, and going door to door asking for the support of Puerto Rican people and local businesses. When we compared our sequence of our parrot, Iguaca, from Rio Abajo to other species of birds, we found that she had 84.5% similarity to zebra finches and 82.7% to a chicken, but her genome was highly rearranged."
Dr Oleksyk continued, "We are very proud of our project and even more proud to be part of a local community dedicated to raising awareness and furthering scientific knowledge of this endangered bird. All the data from this project is publically available in GigaDB which we hope will be a starting point for comparative studies across avian genome data, and will be used to develop and promote undergraduate education in genome science in the Caribbean. Community involvement may be the key for the future of conservation genetics, and many projects like this are needed reverse the current rate of extinction of birds across the globe."

Curiosity, 2012: NASA says that water shaped the rocks on the left, in a photograph taken by the Mars rover Curiosity. For comparison, the agency released an image of rocks from the Earth (right).
NASA
Curiosity 2012: A wider view of the outcrop of a former streambed shows bedrock that scientists believe was likely exposed by meteorites striking the surface of Mars.
NASA
Spirit, 2010: When NASA's Spirit rover got stuck in Martian sand, it proved to be a lucky break: The spinning wheel churned up soil that provided evidence of rocks formed in the presence of water.
NASA
Opportunity, 2004: Opportunity discovered tiny mineral spheres ? nicknamed blueberries ? poking out of rocks that were likely formed by water. Researchers using Opportunity's science instruments identified them as concretions rich in the mineral hematite, deposited by water saturating the bedrock.
NASA
Pathfinder, 1997: The first mission to land a rover on Mars, Pathfinder touched down in Ares Vallis, an ancient flood plain in the planet's northern hemisphere. Among the 2.3 billion bits of data sent back by the lander and its rover, Sojourner, were 15 chemical analyses of rocks and soil, which suggested Mars had once had liquid water and a thicker atmosphere.
NASA
NASA's Curiosity rover has found definitive proof that water once ran across the surface of Mars, the agency announced today. NASA scientists say new photos from the rover show rocks that were smoothed and rounded by water. The rocks are in a large canyon and nearby channels that were cut by flowing water, making up an alluvial fan.
"You had water transporting these gravels to the downslope of the fan," NASA researchers say. The gravel then formed into a conglomerate rock, which was in turn likely covered before being exposed again.
The agency's scientists presented their findings of the former streambed on Mars at a news conference today.
"A River Ran Through It," Curiosity's operators tweeted Thursday. "I found evidence of an ancient streambed on Mars, similar to some on Earth."
"From the size of gravels it carried, we can interpret the water was moving about 3 feet per second," said Curiosity science co-investigator William Dietrich, "with a depth somewhere between ankle and hip deep."
The rocks have not undergone scientific analysis. But the NASA team says that taken with geographic data from Mars orbiters, the photographs tell a story all their own.
?The images show rocks with round, smooth surfaces; many of them have been broken down into sizes smaller than one inch in diameter.
"The shapes tell you they were transported and the sizes tell you they couldn't be transported by wind," co-investigator Rebecca Williams said. "They were transported by water flow."
"There is earlier evidence for the presence of water on Mars," the agency said in a press release, "but this evidence ? images of rocks containing ancient streambed gravels ? is the first of its kind."
NASA's team has named the rock outcrop that reveals the former streambed "Hottah," after Canada's Hottah Lake.
Scientists have not yet estimated the age of the rocks, which may have been buried beneath the surface. Their age could be several billion years.
The next step will be to find a good spot to drill into the rock, NASA says. And they'll be looking for possible carbon deposits to determine whether the water on Mars once supported life.
The photographs released Thursday are among more than 13,000 raw images Curiosity has captured. The rover took the photos during its mission to Mars' Gale Crater. The rocks in question lie between the crater's north rim and Mount Sharp, a mountain inside the crater.
NASA investigators presented the results of their analysis at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. You can read other posts about Curiosity in our archive.

Self improvement is an area in which there is much to learn. Collecting this knowledge will help you improve yourself. One of the best ways to develop yourself as a person is to learn lots of new skills and knowledge, and then use and apply your new skills and knowledge as often as possible.
Taking occasional risks, on a small level, can help you lead a happier life! It can be scary to go out of your comfort zone because of a fear of failing or rejection, though never taking risks will leave you unfulfilled. Being capable of undertaking risks may ultimately be a contributing factor in one?s overall happiness.
It is possible to learn how to cope in a crisis without letting your emotions take full control. Come up with methods that will help relieve your stress and remain calm when problems pop up. Take some time during your day to stop and take breaths.
TIP! When working on personal development strive to achieve a high level of self discipline. Make sure you exhibit self control over what you most desire.
For individuals with more severe problems, the ideal solution may be therapy. While self-help books can be helpful, a therapist can propose targeted, customized advice to help you achieve your goals. For some people, they have much more success when they can talk openly about their problems. Books don?t provide the give and take, back-and-forth communication, that a personal meeting with the therapist can.
Always have an emergency fund. Each time an unexpected expense crops up, it seems we wind up adding it to our credit cards. Just by simply investing a couple dollars per week, the amount will quickly grow into a large emergency fund. You can get your debt moving in the right direction (that is, downward) by making use of that fund instead of credit.
Always treat people respectfully, whether they have power and can do something for you, or whether they?re an ordinary person. Treat them well, and your actions will speak volumes.
TIP! Your core principles are important, and your actions should reflect them. People have their beliefs that act as the center of themselves.
Employers usually don?t care where you went to college. They only care that you got your degree and are capable of doing the work. Only the most prestigious of positions look at where you went to school. The important thing is to acquire a degree so you have more opportunities available to you.
Becoming more selfless is a huge step towards your personal development. Being able to sacrifice for others, and feeling joy in their happiness, develops your character. Being able to sacrifice for others and being able to get fulfillment, will help you develop into a more well-rounded person.
Perhaps you have set high goals for yourself and keep failing to attain them. If this is the case, it is a good idea to stop and think why. Compare your goals with the goals of others that you can research online. You may realize you have been unrealistic, not having given yourself the means necessary to achieve your goal, or that perhaps you have set too high a mark.
Instead of bragging about your accomplishments, ask those around you about what they are most proud of and what they?ve achieved. This allows you to discover some of the great things that people around you are capable of accomplishing, which helps you to respect others by giving you insight into their character.
TIP! It is impossible for you to properly care for the ones you love, unless you take care of yourself first. To ensure you can have the energy to care for others, take care of yourself by getting plenty of rest.
A great suggestion to enhance your self improvement is to make certain that value is placed on those things you think of as being the best. If you always endeavor to do your best, you?ll never be disappointed in yourself.
Create your own pep talk. List the things that you love about yourself on a postcard. Have it with you at all times, and look at it when you want some inspiration. Another great idea is to recite the list while filming yourself, so that you can view the footage regularly. Why not?
After reading these tips, you should know how to reach your own personal development goals. Use what you have learned here and continue to seek out more ways to further your growth
Stress is an enemy of happiness. When our minds are stressed, our mental and physical bodies are harmed. To retain clarity of mind and the motivation to work towards our goals, it is critical to banish unnecessary stress from our minds. Schedule some time every day simply to unwind. Just sit back, let your mind go blank, and think about what?s important to you. Taking some time to renew will help you to stay calm, and will improve your self-confidence.
Plenty of men and women have problems with anger every day, so you are not by yourself. In case you want to find much more helpful information about anger management group check out the following assets below.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) ? In the weeks before Election Day, University of Iowa students will have a dozen places on campus to vote for President Barack Obama or challenger Mitt Romney.
Residents in the heavily Latino city of Denison will be able to cast ballots at a Mexican grocery store. Those living in the Republican-leaning Des Moines suburbs will get to vote early at evangelical churches. And voters in the state's most conservative county, Sioux, will be able to make their picks at a small-town library.
Iowa is one of 32 states that allow early voting, and both presidential campaigns are trying to take advantage of an unusual state law that gives political supporters a big say in where the ballots are cast. As voting begins Thursday, the sudden profusion of conspicuously Obama-friendly or Romney-friendly polling places in this key battleground state will serve as a novel example of how the trend toward flexibility is morphing the tenets of Election Day across the nation.
Iowa's law allows anyone who gets the signatures of 100 county voters to choose a specific voting place in that county. Election officials must hold balloting at that site for at least one day in the 40 days before the Nov. 6 election. The law is apparently the only one of its kind in the nation, said Jennie Bowser, who tracks election law at the National Conference of State Legislatures.
Both campaigns filed a batch of petitions before last week's deadline calling for satellite voting at locations carefully chosen to make it as easy as possible for their backers to vote.
"This is substantially more than we had in the last presidential," said Tim Box, an elections administrator in Linn County, the state's second-largest, which received 12 petitions from the campaigns. He is preparing to operate sites at a union hall, on three college campuses and at an African-American church in response to Obama campaign petitions and at Lutheran churches where voting was sought by Romney's backers.
Obama campaign spokeswoman Erin Seidler said the campaign is using the polling place petitions to target key parts of the electorate Obama needs to win: college students, Latinos in small towns and African-Americans in bigger cities.
"We are strategic in how we are reaching out to voters," she said.
Romney campaign spokesman Shawn McCoy said the GOP is also spotting polling places "so that more Iowans have an opportunity to voice their support for Gov. Romney."
In most states that allow early voting, state laws direct local election administrators to choose the polling places. They typically favor neutral sites that are accessible for the general public such as libraries and courthouses, as do Iowa officials when they pick locations on their own.
Iowa's petition law was passed decades ago to allow residents to seek early voting in counties where officials refused to set up satellite sites. But as early voting became more popular, partisans have increasingly gamed the process in a way that critics say calls fairness into question. About 35 percent of Iowa voters cast ballots before Election Day in 2008, above the national average of 30 percent.
"It's partisan chaos, which ought not to happen," said Doug Lewis, executive director of the Election Center, a nonprofit organization in Houston that trains election officials on best practices. "I can't fault the campaigns for figuring out the weaknesses in the law and therefore capitalizing on it. But what that does for Iowa is it gives the election a skewed process."
The practice increased in 2010 and could intensify this cycle. In the midterm election, Republicans collected petitions for polling places at evangelical churches in Ames; two churches even opened polls during Sunday services, sparking criticism from the American Civil Liberties Union. Officials in Johnson County, a liberal stronghold that's home to the University of Iowa, operated a record 27 petition-requested sites in 2010.
This year, Johnson County Auditor Tom Slockett received a similar deluge of petitions seeking sites at the university's law school, residence halls, student union, main library and more. The influx of petitions has worried local elections officials, who say they cause last-minute logistical and budgeting headaches.
"I have long felt that the bar is too low to request satellite sites," said Slockett, recalling he was once forced to host a site on the stairwell of an academic building, the only place where voting could be set up. But attempts to change the law to make it harder to petition have failed.
In Black Hawk County, Democrats petitioned to open six sites on the University of Northern Iowa campus in Cedar Falls and one site at a black church in Waterloo. Republicans petitioned for voting at the American Martyrs Retreat House, which is operated by the Catholic Church, in rural Union township. The number of petitions is up significantly from four years ago, county elections manager Kyle Jensson said.
"We'll be scurrying to so many places," Jensson said.
In Denison, a city of 8,300 in western Iowa that is more than 40 percent Latino, the Obama campaign petitioned to require voting at La Jalisciense Tienda grocery store and in an empty former Mexican restaurant. Crawford County Auditor Terri Martens said she worried that non-Latinos who do not shop or eat at those locations wouldn't feel comfortable voting there.
"It seems like the purpose that this group is using it for is to yank one sector of the public out of the voting crowd and make it ultra-convenient for them," Martens said. "My job is to make it convenient for all voters. I'm having a difficult time with this."
Martens said she was also frustrated with the tactics the Obama operatives used to secure voting at locations they wanted.
"It was, 'If you do this and you guarantee us these days, we won't file any more petitions,'" she recalled. "I was like, 'Come on.' It was disappointing as a registered Democrat myself."

Voting began today in Iowa, the first battleground state where voters can cast their ballot in the presidential election.
Iowa is one of 32 states (plus the District of Columbia) that allows no-excuse early voting, meaning that any registered voter can head to the polls before election day and cast their ballot. Idaho and South Dakota were the first states to start early voting last week, but Iowa is the first of the key swing states that could determine the outcome of the election where voting has begun.
Ohio is the next swing state to begin early voting. Polls there open on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
Early voting has become an increasing popular form of voting in recent years. In 2008, 36 percent of the total vote in Iowa came in via early or absentee voting. This year, the Iowa secretary of state's office expects that number to grow.
Voters across the state gathered as early as 6:45 a.m. to walk over to the their voting locations together. For the most part, early voters in the state will not cast their ballot at a polling site, but will go to their county courthouses.
While the number of voters who turned out this morning to be the first to cast their ballots in the Hawkeye state is not yet available, over 185,000 absentee ballots have been requested, and just over 3,500 have been returned, according to the Iowa Secretary of State's office.
So far, those ballots tilt heavily towards the Democrats. About 119,000 of the 185,000 requested are from registered Democrats, while a little more than 24,000 are from registered Republicans. The remaining ballots come from voters registered as "no party" or "other." Republicans do boast an advantage in terms of total registered voters in the state, however, with about 620,000 to 602,000, according to figures from the secretary of state's office.
While both parties in the state have made a push to encourage voters to vote by mail, Democrats and Republicans take a different strategy in the types of voter they're targeting. Democrats are mostly talking to their base voters when it comes to mobilizing people to vote by mail or come out to the polls and cast their vote early. Those supporters who are definitely going to vote, it's just a question of when, a Democratic source in Iowa told ABC News.
Republicans are focusing more on voters that they deem less likely to vote on election day, a GOP source said.

At a debate this morning hosted by the Missouri Press Association in Columbia, three Missouri gubernatorial candidates squared off on their proposals for funding K-12 and higher education and on how they would work to improve the state's transportation infrastructure.
Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon is running for re-election against Republican candidate Dave Spence and Libertarian candidate Jim Higgins. When the candidates were asked whether they would support an overhaul of the state's foundation formula, which is used to determine funding for the state's 524 K-12 school districts, Nixon said there was "record spending" on K-12 education this year and that he would be willing to consider small fixes to the formula if the idea were supported by members of the Missouri General Assembly.
"It's very easy to talk about how things could be different," Nixon said.
In response to an earlier question in the debate about how the candidates would close the achievement gap among students, Higgins called for more support for charter schools and expanding school vouchers, the latter of which Nixon called "radical."
Spence said that, if elected, he would consider changes to the formula, which he said has been underfunded in the past because of a shrinking tax base to fund school systems. He said that could be improved by expanding the number of jobs offered in Missouri. "Right now we're trying to squeeze blood from a turnip in our state," Spence said.
In response to a question about funding higher education, Nixon said that, although he does not think a tax increase would be the proper method of providing more funding for higher education, the matter should be left up to voters.
Nixon proposed a budget before the latest legislative session that cut $100 million from higher education, but he partially plugged that hole with $40 million the state received from a settlement, which translated to $4 million in cuts for the University of Missouri's campus in Columbia.
Spence said that, if elected, he would reinstate funding cut from higher education under Nixon's watch but would seek to do so without a tax increase.
When asked whether high-speed railroads should be expanded in the state, Nixon said Missouri has "worked hard" to maintain its railroad infrastructure and has reached out to Illinois to find ways to strengthen high-speed rail access between Chicago and St. Louis. He said that would be a crucial step in bringing more rail traffic to Missouri.
"All of that is part of a long-term transportation focus that will continue to provide us a competitive economy," Nixon said.
Spence expressed doubt that expanding high-speed rail in Missouri would be a good fit for the state, saying it would be unlikely that taxpayers would be willing to foot the bill for funding. He said he would like to see whether demand in the state justifies the need for supplying more railroads.
"Boy, doesn't it sound great? Sure does," Spence said. "But who's going to pay for it?"
Higgins echoed Spence's argument that, if high-speed rail were to be expanded in the state, the effort to do so would need to be generated by an increase in demand from Missouri residents.
"People have to use it and get out of their cars first," Higgins said.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) ? Iran has test-fired four missiles designed to hit warships during a drill near the strategic Strait of Hormuz, an Iranian military commander said.
The missiles were fired simultaneously and hit a "big target" the size of a warship, sinking it within 50 seconds, Gen. Ali Fadavi of the powerful Revolutionary Guard was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars news agency.
The Fars report late Monday was the first indication of an Iranian military exercise taking place simultaneously and close to U.S.-led joint naval maneuvers in the Persian Gulf, including mine-sweeping drills, which got under way last week.
The U.S. Navy claims the maneuvers are not directly aimed at Iran, but the West and its regional allies have made clear they would react against attempts by Tehran to carry out threats to try to close critical Gulf oil shipping lanes in retaliation for tighter sanctions over its disputed nuclear program.
Fadavi did not elaborate on the ongoing Iranian exercise or the type of missiles fired but said the Guard is planning a "massive naval maneuver in the near future" in the strait.
Iran regularly holds maneuvers to upgrade its military readiness as well as test its equipment.
The latest drill comes amid tension over Iran's nuclear program and Israel's suggestion that it might unilaterally strike Iranian nuclear facilities to scuttle what the U.S. and its allies believe are efforts to build an atomic bomb.
Tehran denies it is pursuing such weapons and insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
On Sunday, a senior Guard commander warned that Iran would target U.S. bases in the region in the event of war with Israel. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who heads the Guard's aerospace division, claimed no Israeli attack can happen without the support of its most important ally, the United States, making all U.S. military bases a legitimate target.
Iran has in the past also warned that oil shipments through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the route for a fifth of the world's oil, will be in jeopardy if a war breaks out.
For its part, Israel believes that any attack on Iran would likely unleash retaliation in the form of Iranian missiles as well as rocket attacks by Iranian proxies Hezbollah and Hamas on its northern and southern borders.

It's not the first time Engadget editors have stepped foot at Nokia House -- the company's HQ in Espoo, Finland -- but it's always a treat, and our visit this week is no exception. Today we took a walk down memory lane, and spent some time with several Nokia handsets -- from one of the very first mobile phones to the Lumia 920. We played with some of the more iconic models and designs, such as the 1011 (first GSM handset), 1610, 7700 / 7710 (S90), 7280 (lipstick phone), 770 / N800 tablets, N-Gage / QD, 3300, 8800, 8110 (from the Matrix movie), N93 / N93i, N91, N92, N76, N95 and finally the 7650 (the first handset running Symbian). In addition, we also got to handle some of the Lumia 820 and 920 accessories, including the Fatboy wireless charging pillow and JBL-branded Power Up speakers. Check out the gallery below then hit the break for our hands-on video. Oh, and don't forget to tune in tomorrow for our live Q&A with Nokia's CEO Stephen Elop.
Update: That music-centric handset which uses an IBM Microdrive is the N91 (not N90) and was announced in 2005 (not 1995), and that flip-phone wa steh N76 (not the N75) -- sorry for the slip in the video.
