Community Raises Money For Tornado Victims

Neighbors helping neighbors is the theme of a disaster relief benefit Friday night called Jeff Cares.

Volunteers from the city of Jeffersonville are working together to help raise money for the victims of the March 2 tornadoes.

Jeff Cares is a family-friendly event that features dinner, cash bar, silent auction, live music and other entertainment.

The event runs from 5 p.m. to midnight at 300 Spring in Jeffersonville.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and children under 10 get in free.

The Clarksville High School baseball team is also raising money for tornado victims. They?re playing a 50-inning wiffle ball game at 3:30 p.m. at Clarksville Little League's Challenger Field.

CHS players have been raising money through pledges and donations.

The players and coaches are donating half the proceeds to the Northside Tornado Relief Fund.

Additional money raised during the game will be given directly to the relief fund.
